I found this place on gmaps as one of the nearest halal nasi lemak with the high rating nearby where I stayed at. Didnt expect that the taste of nasi lemak it served would be this good! the portion was huge, and the flavor was very rich! idk, it was one of the best nasi lemak that I had ever tried! keep it up!
Taste wise, really delicious. The gravy was rich, the sambal had depth, and the portion was generous. The chicken itself was massive, and visually it looked so promising when it arrived. But when I cut into the chicken, the inner parts were still bloody and not fully cooked. I felt disappointed because the flavours were good, but the execution was not consistent. For the price point, I expected something cooked through and properly prepared. Overall, I love the taste, but because the chicken was not fully cooked, it didn’t feel worth the price. I hope they improve their cooking consistency, because everything else could have made this a solid meal.
Located at the vibrant Bugis Cube, HUSK Nasi Lemak offers a fresh take on the beloved local dish, and their Wholesome Lemak Drumstick Set is a must-try. As a fan of reimagined classics, I was eager to see how HUSK would elevate the traditional Nasi Lemak, and I wasn’t disappointed. When the dish arrived, it immediately stood out as something a little different. The coconut rice was fragrant and aromatic, perfectly infused with freshly sourced coconut milk. The texture was spot on fluffy, with just the right amount of creaminess. Paired with the drumstick, which was tender and infused with a rich, curry-like seasoning, this dish was shaping up to be something special. The chicken, while not crispy, was beautifully tender, with the spices soaking deep into the meat, offering a comforting and aromatic flavor that complemented the creamy rice. It wasn’t the crispy fried chicken I initially expected, but the rich, curry-infused tenderness of the drumstick brought a different yet equally satisfying element to the dish. But the real game-changer was the sambal. It had the perfect balance of heat and sweetness spicy enough to awaken your senses, but not overpowering. The sambal had layers of complexity, with flavors that deepened with each bite. It’s clear that this sambal isn’t just a condiment it’s crafted with care, bringing a bold kick that lifted the whole dish. Alongside the drumstick and sambal, there was a refreshing side of acar tangy-sweet pickled vegetables that added a much-needed zing. The crisp, zesty flavor of the acar helped cut through the richness of the coconut rice and chicken, offering a lovely contrast of textures and flavors that rounded out the meal. At $14.50, the Wholesome Lemak Drumstick Set offers fantastic value. The portion is generous, and the quality of the ingredients stands out. This dish feels both comforting and innovative, a modern take on the classic Nasi Lemak that still stays true to what makes it beloved. If you’re in the Bugis area and craving a Nasi Lemak experience that’s fresh, flavorful, and a little different from the usual, HUSK Nasi Lemak is definitely worth a visit. With their commitment to fresh ingredients and their clever twist on traditional flavors, I’m sure I’ll be back for more soon.
