This new Mexican restaurant is within short walking distance from home and also replaced my former favourite cafe- Cafe Ren. Serving Mexican food, was curious to try it out. The long lines on a Sunday evening were clear as to how popular this spot is among diners. The menu is extremely short and concise. What was sad was that a lot of the drinks were unavailable while some food options were unavailable too. We ordered the Esquite which was corn kernels served in a sauce and made a good start to the meal. For mains, we ordered the chicken tacos and beer battered fish tacos. Both were spectacular. Freshly fried fresh fish served in colourful tacos while the chicken was delicious too. Everything was served quickly and tasted excellent. The servers are courteous and efficient. We only saw one dessert option, so skipped that. Would definitely visit again. Total cost for three dishes was around 51 SGD.
We gotten the loaded nacho and beef tacos and omg its so good. Usually it will be a struggle to finish the loaded nachos as by the time you get to too the bottom, the chips will get soggy but not this! It stayed crispy and yummy!😋 Would love to go back to try their other menu but advised to go during a “wash hair day” as the cooking smell do stick to you 😅
A true gem! At last, we found a worthy spot that lives up to what ex-VATOS meant to us. Their fish tacos are an absolute must-order. A huge piece of perfectly battered, perfectly fried fish, literally the size of my hand not palm! Fresh, juicy, and so satisfying. Honestly, I could eat three of these as a main. The loaded nachos were truly loaded, toppings > chips (the way it should be!) Chicken wings had great flavour with that addictive crunchy batter And the pulled short rib beef tacos, juicy and full of flavour even on their own. I’m defiantly coming back for those fish tacos!!
