got to try their summer menu a few weeks ago!! really glad i got to pop by and not wait too long too. there's limited seating so i recommend going early!!! we got a tickled pink, a mont blanc 5.0, a crema al matcha and a jc confidential. the tickled pink was one of my favourites because of the cold brew jelly at the bottom!! the chew was a nice texture and touch to the sweet pink guava and camellia oolong notes. i wasn't expecting to like the crema al matcha so much but it might have been the best drink for me! the roasted sesame brittle was such a fun textural contrast and the flavours were really good. i really didn't expect the uji matcha to come in a slushy form, which just made the drink more interesting. for the mont blanc 5.0 i think the vanilla bean french cream was the highlight for me because it was in every sip of the drink! i also like the subtle warmth of the nutmeg spice. the jc confidential was such an interesting experience- it's a favourite of a few of the baristas! the enzymatic extraction gave it a really interesting taste and elevated the tea and yuzu flavours~ super happy i got to come try this experiential coffee mocktail bar concept! joo chiat is packed with cafes to visit but i think this is a must go~

The coffee they serve is certainly very interesting, especially in the way they are constructed. In a way, each ingredient they add to their individual selection is pretty thoughtful and I can see their attempt to enhance the flavour. But admittedly, this could be an acquired taste, which I unfortunately couldn’t acquire in my first tasting. Nonetheless, my companions liked it, except the corn flavoured one, which we couldn’t really taste the corn and were thus confused. The peanut and hojicha were on point. The shop is also very cramped.

Chapter Six: Autumn 2025 This seasonal menu might just be their most fun one yet. Pisang Kikkoman: Starts with a surprising umami hit, then mellows into a light, fragrant banana finish. Unexpected but so well balanced. Peanut Milk: Creamy, nutty and comforting, with coffee and crunchy textures that make every sip interesting. Up And Away: Easily my favourite. Bright, refreshing passionfruit and orange… and yes, it changes your voice. Mont Blanc 6.0: Aromatic, floral and elevated, with nutmeg and mace aromas sprayed onto your hand to enhance the experience. Playful, thoughtful and full of little surprises — this is Big Short Coffee doing what they do best.
